Your First Visit

New patient consultations typically take 45 minutes. During this time we hope to accomplish the following:

  • Obtain your medical and dental history.
  • Complete a comprehensive orthodontic examination to determine the extent to which orthodontic treatment may be needed.
  • Outline the estimated fees for the recommended treatment plan.

During initial consultation appointment, we will review the necessary information to begin the treatment evaluation/consultation process. Dr. Cassalia will do a thorough clinical examination and discuss his findings with you and/or your child. He will then discuss the various treatment options available to address your orthodontic concerns. After the examination, you will receive a copy of the notes acquired during the examination, treatment recommendations and available options. If treatment is not recommended at that time, a follow up "observation" appointment will be recommended to monitor dental development. Afterwards our treatment coordinator will help you to create a financial plan that suits your family's needs and answer any insurance questions you may have.

Next Steps

Diagnostics & Treatment

Once it is determined that you or your child is ready for orthodontic treatment, an appointment is scheduled to obtain diagnostic information with digital x-rays, intra-oral photographs and digital scan of the dental arches. Dr. Cassalia will review the diagnostic information with you and/or your child to confirm the initial visit treatment recommendations. After the appliances have been placed on your teeth, you will be seen approximately once every six to eight weeks, and these visits usually last twenty to thirty minutes.

We help to educate and explain

It is important for patients to understand the treatment process. An informed patient is more likely to take an active part in their treatment and enhance the overall experience.
